Seven Questions on the year 2009.   Eagle Mystic was contacted by the Colorado Springs Gazette and asked to provide answers to the following questions.

1. How deep will the recession be in 2009?

The recession will continue to exist and grow negatively through the April timeframe. At that time it will remain flat, which will actually be a positive because it will not be growing negatively anymore. This is also the timeframe that the new administration’s infrastructure projects will be nearing a start phase. That coupled with continued world-wide enthusiasm and acceptance of the Obama administration by the world will allow and cause positive growth.
Our economic recovery is not key to all the world players, so we must be wary of moves that are made by others to slow our recovery. We are currently feeling very positive, and know that we have started down a new creative path to right the ship. Sometimes we are afraid of the truth, but we must face it with fortitude. We must persevere despite setbacks, for it is only with a national positive attitude that can we turn this around. Success is within reach, it just seems like it is so far away because we have not had to sacrifice before. We must keep a healthy self-esteem and it will be perpetuated.

2. How long will the recession last?

It is going to continue for a little while, at least through end of summer or early fall. Immediate change is not evident. However, this recession is not as bad as others have been, and is self-perpetuating. As we worry with guilt and anguish, we are not able to act in a positive manner. We are in a vicious cycle, as long as we are holding onto our money, and not buying, then we are not going to be able to “kick-start” the economy. Businesses that are not able to sell, will have to layoff, and so on and so on.
The ideas and moves that have been made so far are not going to have the desired effect by themselves. Different, alternative, ideas are necessary. The new administratian must be alert and receptive to new ideas. When we as a nation are able to act in a positive manner, energetic, wholehearted, self-assured, then that will be self-perpetuating and we will lead ourselves out of this recession.

3. What will be the Obama Administration's greatest accomplishment?

The greatest accomplishment will be the advancement of peace world-wide and the return of this country’s stature in the eyes of the world. Much progress will be made at the peace table on all fronts and we will become a member of a world-wide team again. That is not a small task and should be realized for its importance. This is not to say that we will not still be involved in fighting, that will continue, but we will not be perceived as if we are going it alone.
Another great accomplishment will be a great technological effort made to go GREEN, emphasized in the petroleum reduction task that the administration will launch. One involves technology, the other is political.
Both are very important. The technological one may not actually be achieved during the administration, but progress will be made so that the end goal will be within reach. One happens fairly quickly, and the other is a long term achievement.

4. What will be the Obama Administration's greatest setback?

There will be a power struggle. Those involved are in that position due to a loss. They will realize that the fight they are fighting is not their fight, and they wonder if they have energy for it. The administration must beware of secret enemies. But goodness will prevail. Caution should be taken when sudden change and upheaval are experienced, but secrets will be exposed. A suggestion is to be on the lookout for those that are intolerant, interfering, and oblivious to other’s opinions.

5. Will there be a terrorist attack on American soil?

Yes, and it will involve a people-mover such as a train, sub-way, or tram. And it will very likely be in a resort-destination like place such as Las Vegas where we go out of the way to make all things convenient for the visitors but do not have increased security.
As a nation, we are just not vigilant. It will be embarrassing to us how easy this can happen. We have not wanted to change our style of life even after 9/11, and so are just as easy a prey now as we were then. We must determine to be more aware of our surroundings and be ever-vigilant. We must be the aggressor in our self-protection, if we continue to be reactionary, it may be too late for some.

6. What will be the most surprising occurrence in America?

This administration will be given the opportunity to provide leadership and the time to allow that leadership to be proven. There will be a time when no more (outwardly visible) moves are being done, especially in regards to the recession. Patience will be counseled and be received without a great clamor from the country. The country will have faith in the percieved confidence and will react accordingly.
This surprise will be viewed historically, that such a young administration will be given the credence that is usually only gained after time in office.

7. What will be the most surprising occurrence globally?

How quickly and strongly we get out of this recession and reverse our global position to that which it was. The world will love us again, and be willing to view us as a leader. This will be remarkably easy to accomplish when you consider that it took us a while to gain that position in the world, and we have only fallen out of favor over the past few years. Our previous lofty position will be ours to regain, now that we are seen with an unwavering, cautious, yet confident leader.
